Is it allowed to take Pinaverium Bromide during lactation? |
|
A Calcium channel blocker with spasmolytic activity on the intestine and antimuscarinic effects. At latest update no published data were found on excretion into breast milk.Pharmacokinetic data (moderately high molecular weight and high protein binding) make unlikely the passage into milk in significant amounts. Its low oral bioavailability hinders its passage into infant's plasma from ingested milk, except in preterm infants and immediate neonatal period, since they may exhibit an increased intestinal permeability. Anticholinergics may reduce milk production: take a minimum necessary dose and avoid prolonged treatment if decreased milk is observed. |
