Is it allowed to take Azelastine during lactation?
Is it safe for a nursing mother and a child?

Second generation anti-histaminic drug with low sedative effect. Used for ophthalmic and nasal topical administration. On last update no relevant published data related to breastfeeding were found. A small dose together with a low plama level of most nasal and ophthalmologic compounds make that a significant excretion into breast milk would be unlikely.

Always used Patonal 0.1% . Insurances have gotten stricter to buy less expensive medicines. Under the circumstances this works well. Takes a little longer to stop itching and burning.

Horrible bitterness in my throat after using this medication, but it has definitely helped my eyes a lot!

Although it has helped my itchy, dry, irritated eyes. It has left this awful feeling in my throat, accompanied by an awful taste. I went online to see if this was a side effect, and sure enough it was. It lasted a good five hours. So if you’re sensitive to meds like me, this may happen.

My eyes had been mildly irritated all the time and felt very tired and strained. Immediately after using the first time my eyes felt relief, they calmed down and looking at things (especially at night) was much easier.
