Is it allowed to take Diphenoxilate-Hcl during lactation?
Is it safe for a nursing mother and a child?

Opium derivated antidiarrheic drug. Check-up for sedation and constipation. It is not justified an indiscriminate use as a treatment of gastroenteritis. Most effective management of acute diarrheic disorders is aimed to keep hydration status by the use of WHO’s Oral Rehydration Solutions, and appropriate nutritional support. The use of drugs is not warranted since diarrheic disease is considered to be a self-limited condition. Not commercially available in Spain
