Is it allowed to take Carvedilol during lactation?
Is it safe for a nursing mother and a child?

Since the last update we have not found published data on its excretion in breast milk. Its high percentage of plasma protein binding makes excretion in significant amounts very unlikely (Riant 1986). Other adrenergic beta-blockers of the same family and similar chemical structure are compatible with breastfeeding (see specific information for Labetalol or Propranolol). Until there is more published data on this drug in relation to breastfeeding, safer known alternatives may be preferable, especially during the neonatal period and in case of prematurity.

Use this med w extreme caution if you have a slow heartbeat and use other bp meds. It did lower the blood pressure. BUT. I began to feel tired. I had a routine dr visit and the dr asked if I felt ok because my heartbeat was down to 30 beats per minute.

I cried every day I took this pill until it was replaced with Bystolic 12 years ago. Recently I was given it again for chf. It was cancelled, but pharmacy had no record, nor did I. This morning, I took a 25 mg pill. Just read I should have been given a 3.25 mg pill to start with. Wish me luck.

Had a mild stroke the cardiologist at the hospital gave me this I have had High blood pressure for 20 years..after one week I had severe itching of my face hands and arms and I was wheezing (asthma since a child) the Doctor basically told me to "Just take a Benedryl": I stopped taking it. All the online info said I should not have been taking it with a history of asthma.. I Need a new cardiologist.
