Is it allowed to take Hydrochlorothiazide during lactation?

Thiazide diuretic drug. Excretion into breast milk is clinically non-significant. No side-effects were observed in a one-month old breastfed baby whose mother was treated with this medication. Drug level in the plasma of this child was undetectable. Long-term treatment with diuretic drugs (particularly Thiazide type ones with long-lasting effect and loop-acting mechanism) may inhibit lactation, mostly if lactation is not well-established yet. Use as lower dose as possible, especially during the first postnatal month. American Academy of Pediatrics 2013: Maternal Medication Usually Compatible With Breastfeeding. WHO Model List of Essential Drugs 2002: Compatible with breastfeeding.

Didnâ??t help at all and caused many other health issues along with the Lisinopril and Simvastatin now I have a permanent health condition I did not have before check out what the Would Health Organization has to say about this combination of drugs... ð??¢ Try homeopathic remedies and exercise theyâ??re working for me, my friends that stuck with prescriptions have all passed years ago. Take care of yourself you are the only one you ever get here on earth.

I have only been taking this for a week. From the second night, I have had extreme feet burning. It is not worth it.

All I can say is that my body has not felt normal since i started this medication prescribed through the emergency room. I�m up all night, I use restroom more frequently, dehydration, and heart beat feels irregular. Not taking this medication anymore. I rather change my lifestyle habits, the best way to go !

This drug is cheap. It is effective. It has been proven by decades of use. Since it is totally off-patent, no drug company promotes it. But is is proven. Yeah, you gotta pee more. That is the cost of not carrying excess water
