Is it allowed to take Sumatriptan during lactation?
Is it safe for a nursing mother and a child?

Until more information on other Triptan-related compounds are available Sumatriptan is thought to be the safest one because of both a low excretion into breast milk and a low gut absorption.

I have been taking this for 2 months. I get 2-3 migraines a week. However, only 2-3 a MONTH are debilitating. Those are the instances where I have ONLY noticed that Sumatriptan actually helps. For my minor migraines it does nothing. Although, I am not sure if the relief for my bad ones are from the sumatriptan or sleeping/ibuprofen/hot shower.
