Is it allowed to take Nimodipine during lactation?
Is it safe for a nursing mother and a child?

Excreted into breast milk in a non-significant amount. Because of pharmacokinetic data (high protein-binding capacity and low oral bioavailability) the observed low excretion into breast milk would be explained. Nimodipine does not alter secretion of Prolactin.

Unfortunately, this medication MUST be taken every 4 hours to prevent vasospasm. That was my only gripe about taking Nimodipine. I would recommend setting several alarms to take this medication on time. I took each dose at 8am, noon, 4pm, 8pm, midnight and 4am.

I had a bleed on the brain, and was told that I needed this medication to keep the blood vessels open. I am so thankful for this medication because I am doing great and I am currently not on any medication.
