Is it allowed to take Dimercaptosuccinic Acid during lactation? |
|
Heavy metal chelating agent used to treat intoxication with lead (also mercury and arsenic). Lead having been chelated by DMSA is eliminated through the urine. Although it is unlikely to be secreted into breast milk, it would be prudent to pump-out and dispose expressed milk for the next 5 days (until lead levels have lowered). |
