Is it allowed to take Headache during lactation? |
|
Breast feeding protect from migraine recurrence during postpartum: migraine recurred within the first postpartum month in 100% of women who bottle-fed and in only 43.2% of those who breastfed. While breastfeeding avoid using associations of drugs and those derived from phenazone, ergotamine, barbiturates or sedative medication. Ibuprofen and Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) are safe, alone or associated to low doses of codeine or caffeine. Metamizole (Dipyrone) is widely used in Europe and Latin America without serious side effects. Among Triptan-type drugs Sumatriptan is a more convenient medication. For prophylaxis purposes Propanolol, several anti-epileptic (Gabapentin, Valproate) and anti-depressant drugs (Verapamil, Amitriptylin). compatible.
