Is it allowed to take Ménière Disease during lactation? |
|
No evidence is available on the effectiveness of many treatments used for this condition. Use of a minimal dose as possible for the shortest time-period would be a sound practice. Some treatments are suitable while breastfeeding as follows: low-salt diet, moderately use of diuretics (Acetazolamide, Chlortalidone, Furosemide, Hydrochlorothiazide, Spironolactone) and low dose anxiolytic benzodiazepine drugs (Lorazepam, Oxazepam), Betahistine, Hydralazine, Nimodipine, Corticosteroids, Ginkgo Biloba and intra-tympanic instillation of Gentamycin. Use antihistaminic drugs for vertigo sporadically and carefully. |
