I have used fergon for almost four years and have had no side effects and have had no consipation issues at all, which I truthfully thought would happen. I take 1 tablet a day and have yearly blood work to ensure my iron levels are being maintained. So far my iron levels have been perfect.

My hemogloben count was low (7.5) My Dr recommended that I take Fergon for a month, and have weekly blood tests to check results. After a month, my hemogloben count raised to 12.5 and stayed at that level without additional Fergon.
