Is it allowed to take Amlodipine Besylate during lactation?

It is excreted into breast milk in small amount (less than 10% of relative dose) without problems observed in infants whose mothers were on treatment with this drug. (Naito 2015, Ahn 2007)When measured, the plasma levels of drug in these infants were undetectable (Vasa 2013). Because its drug elimination period is very prolonged, an alternative drug known to be safer should be used, especially during the neonatal period and in case of premature infant.

This drug made my feet and legs swell twice their size. I stopped taking this drug.

Every time I was given a calcium channel blocker, I notice I was getting a plaque build up on my tongue, like yeast. Once I began to take amlodipine I had to increase my probiotic up to 50 billion; after 14 months of taking the amlodipine, I decided to stop taking it all together and I experienced no more plaque/yeast build up on my tongue. I also have vagina yeast that also stopped. My tongue has been cleared for the two weeks I stop this med. I decided to take it again, within 24 hrs the plaque started to build up again on my tongue just that quick. As a result of not taking this med my BP increased to 150/90, so I began to increase natural remedies, like Ceylon(real cinnamon), dried garlic, and a few other things. I also take a diuretic 1.25 mg, so my BP has been stable at about 130/76 to 140/82. I will see a doctor regarding the side effect of this med. I also exercise and drink herbal teas for high BP as well as meditate.

My ankles have swollen within the 1st 30 days. The doctor denies this could happened, so I will be discussing this with him to take me off it or try something different.
